II. Informational Roles
Monitor:
This role involves observing and overseeing the team to ensure that performance standards are being met. It also includes staying updated on any changes in the business and industry and communicating this information to the team.
Disseminator:
This role focuses on sharing useful and relevant information with the team. It involves effectively communicating important information to ensure everyone is well-informed.
Spokesperson:
This role involves communicating information about the team and the business to people outside of the team. It requires representing the team and effectively conveying information to external stakeholders.
III. Decisional Roles
- An entrepreneur is someone who creates necessary change in a team and a business. They actively look for issues and come up with creative ideas to solve them. They are also responsible for successfully implementing these changes.
- A disturbance handler is someone who takes on the role of resolving conflicts and disagreements within a team. They facilitate conversations and help find a way forward when people are unable to agree.
- A resource allocator is someone who delegates tasks to individuals who have the right skills and interests for the job. They ensure that projects have the necessary funding and that the right people are assigned to specific tasks.
- A negotiator is someone who engages in negotiations with the team, the business, and external parties. They represent the interests of their team and work towards finding mutually beneficial agreements.
