Higher Learning’s distance learning school provides a flexible and proven approach to home-schooling children nationwide. Our learning platform is geared towards making parents and students more comfortable with educating at home. We offer a helpful staff and certified teachers to help students grow academically and socially. Enroll now to understand why hundreds of families have joined our learning community.
All curriculum materials:
A student’s curriculum materials are included in the cost of tuition. Enrolled students receive print and digital versions of their Higher Learning coursebooks. Supplemental reading assignments may require the purchase of additional literature book/s.
Flexible start dates & rolling admission:
Our teachers provide your student with support, narrative evaluation, and grading. Your family will develop a meaningful relationship with your Higher Learning teacher, who will provide personalized help and feedback. While teachers work one-on-one with each student, they do not take on the role of tutor. Most of the teaching comes from our print-based materials, and your Higher Learning teacher is available to guide progress through the feedback they provide.
Teacher support:
Your student can begin coursework year-round. Start dates are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Since we offer rolling admission, there is no firm cut-off date for applications; however, spots for our distance learning school are usually limited by August.
Administrative support services:
After you apply, you will be connected with an educational counselor who will work with you through the enrollment process, including correct grade placement and course selection. Our registrar maintains complete records and transcripts and issues enrollment certificates and high school diplomas. Our trained school counselor is available to help with personal, social, or emotional challenges that might arise.
College counseling:
Our experienced college counselor provides information about academic planning, SAT and ACT information, and the college admission process. See which colleges Higher Learning graduates have been admitted to here.
social learning aspect:
While Higher Learning students and families study and learn at home, they are part of a virtual school community. Our teachers lead online workshops, book clubs, and pen pal programs to bring together students who would like to participate; we send an enrolled-only newsletter to share school and student news; and high school students can join our Awesome, an online discussion group.
How does enrollment work?
- Parents will first onboard themselves onto our learning platform by completing our sign-up form.
- A parent or legal guardian will also complete the sign-up form on the child or children’s behalf.
- After enrollment is complete, parents will be able to review and pay for the student's tuition. Each course package is assigned based off a student's grade level and state of residence.
- Our staff will review each application to determine eligibility. Once approved the student's login credentials will be emailed to their primary contact.
- Once student/s credentials are received, he/she should be able to log in and access their personal learning dashboard.
- At this point both parent and student/s should now have full access to their respective dashboards which will include all of our functionalities and tools.
