Course Policies

2025-2026

Assignments & Re-submissions

Unless otherwise stated in your course syllabus, assignments (instructor-graded or computer-graded) may be resubmitted once per semester. All assignments must be completed before students can request the final exam. Once the final exam is requested, no assignment re-submissions are permitted.

Exams & Retakes

Unless otherwise stated in your course syllabus, exams may be retaken once for a fee of $50. Students must pass a final exam to receive course credit. Please note exams and retakes must be completed before course expiration.

Course Duration

Each course at Higher Learning must be completed within a 1-year time-frame. If you need more time, you can purchase a 3-month extension for $100 before the course expires. If the course has already expired, please contact Student Services via email to discuss available options. Please note that you can only purchase one-course extension per course, and once the extension period concludes, no further time extensions will be allowed.

Since most of Higher Learning’s courses are asynchronous, the pace at which you progress through the material is entirely up to you and your ability to feel confident in mastering the content. Generally, you are recommended to allocate at least eight weeks or more to successfully complete a course, dedicating a minimum of 60 hours of work to the course.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a form of cheating. It is taking someone else’s work and claiming it as your own.

Claiming the work of others as your own, whether created by another human or artificial intelligence, is regarded as plagiarism and, as such, violates academic integrity.

This will not be tolerated at Higher Learning.
